Coaches
will focus
individually on
the skills of
each player to
insure they are
progressing
properly.
The
technical
components that
will be focused
on are:
control,
dribbling,
passing,
heading,
tackling,
turning, playing
under pressure
and shooting.
We will also
begin
incorporating
some tactical
components of
the game with
our older age
groups
including:
offensive/defensive
support, vision,
speed of play,
reading of the
game, and system
understanding.
Each
Academy session
will begin with
a warm-up
exercise which
focuses on one
of these
physical
fundamentals.
The final
component that
the PISA Academy
program will
emphasize is the
psychological
aspect of the
game. Some
examples of the
psychological
qualities we
will continue
developing are:
leadership,
composure,
common sense,
concentration,
attitude,
commitment,
pride and
passion.
